Not full-on gowns, though — they're saving those for the Met.

It now feels safe to say that spring has sprung, even in parts of the country where it felt like that was never going to happen. So how did best-dressed stars like Gabrielle Union, Sarah Paulson, Yara Shahidi and Elle Fanning embrace that on the red carpet this week? By covering their legs, oddly enough. But as they demonstrated, a pretty, flowing, long dress can look perfectly spring-y, especially with floral prints, lace, loose silhouettes or pale colors. Paulson and Fanning were nearly twinning in white at Thursday night's Tiffany & Co. Paper Flowers event in New York in Brock Collection and Giambattista Valli, respectively.

Gabrielle Union also wore a romantic Brock Collection dress, which was just one in a slew of excellent red carpet looks for her this week, including a Peter Pilotto smock dress and a full Marc Jacobs Fall 2018 look. Yara Shahidi and Leighton Meester also got the long dress memo, in Prada and Zimmermann, respectively.

For the most part, celebs kept things pretty casual this week, perhaps in anticipation of Monday's Met Gala, which will surely bring a barrage of formal statement lewks. Click through the gallery for all that and even more spring/summer dress inspo from the likes of Kristin Stewart, Margot Robbie, Chloe Sevigny and more.
