Royal blue, orange, pink, navy, yellow and mint green are apparently great together. Who knew?

In the classic '90s teen movie, "10 Things I Hate About You," Gabrielle Union played Alex Mack's (that's Larisa Oleynik's, if you want to get technical) BFF and delivered one of the film's most iconic lines: "I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?" We're still mulling over the answer to that deeply profound query, but in the meantime, let's turn our attention toward a moment of appreciation for Union's 2018 red carpet style.

At a press event to promote her new thriller, "Breaking In," on Monday, the actress/miraculously ageless being showed her color-mixing prowess in a royal-blue-and-orange smock dress with navy pockets and a pink trim. But that wasn't the only color play going on: She paired the piece from Peter Pilotto's Fall 2017 collection with mustard-yellow heels and a mint-green pedicure. With the assist from her go-to stylist Thomas Christos, Union's look is far from subtle — but on Union, it's utter spring perfection.

The actress isn't one to shy away from experimentation when it comes to her personal style, and that extends to her beauty looks, too. For this particular event, she wore voluminous, shaggy, brushed out-curls (by hairstylist Larry Sims). Beneath the perfectly piece-y bangs — epiphany: that's how to wear bangs if you're curly haired! — makeup artist Fiona Stiles created a subtly shimmery charcoal smoky eye, and then finished the look with a rosy nude lip color.

One thing's for sure: This look has us feeling far more than just "whelmed."
