Big news, readers: In just a matter of weeks, I am taking an actual vacation! On a beach! With little-to-no cell reception! If you don't work on the internet, this might not seem like a big deal, but for those of us whose life motto is "never log off," it's an occasion worth celebrating. Even though I won't be spending every waking hour online, I will more than likely sneak my iPhone out of the hotel safe to post an Instagram or two, and chances are that you'll catch me wearing this swimsuit from the new LPA collaboration with Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor.
Designer Pia Arrobio recently teamed up with the 26-year-old de Cadenet Taylor — a fellow Los Angeles resident and model/DJ/women's issues advocate — on a range of swimwear that is meant to be inclusive for women of all shapes and sizes. The collection is made up of retro one-pieces, triangle-top bikinis and high-waisted bottoms, in super-fun motifs like rainbow stripes, leopard print and all-over bubble gum pink with cherry pom pom appliqués. De Cadenet Taylor has been open about her body image struggles since she began modeling at the age of 15, and as any woman with curves can attest, shopping for swimwear can be confidence-shattering torture.
Personally, I've had trouble finding boob-friendly bikinis since I was in my early teens, and this red version from the LPA x ATL collab — complete with adorable white daisy details — looks like it might solve all of my swimwear woes. It's full-coverage at the arm openings on the sides to avoid spillage, and the ruched front allows for just the right amount of cleavage. The side-tie bottom is a bit sexier with its low rise and cheeky cut, but it certainly doesn't veer into "baring it all" territory. If this two-piece fits as well as I suspect it will, don't be surprised if I end up purchasing the entire collection. Keep your eyes peeled on my Instagram to find out!
