On Tuesday, Meghan Markle made her first public appearance as the newly minted Duchess of Sussex while attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace. For the occasion, she chose a pale blush dress by British label Goat, featuring a round neck, three-quarter length sleeves and sheer paneling. The mid-length, silk-crepe frock also has an empire waist and raw edging.
Dubbed the "Flavia" dress, it's currently on sale for 30 percent off and still available in several sizes, so you're in luck, should you be in the market for a royal-garden-party apropos ensemble. (It seems that plenty of shoppers are: The Goat website reportedly crashed on Tuesday due to all of the traffic. The Markle Effect is real!)
According to the keen fashion eyes behind @MeghansMirror, the Duchess paired the dress with Vanessa Tugendhaft floral earrings, nude Tamara Mellon pumps and a Wilbur & Gussie silk clutch she has worn before. The finishing touch was a bespoke Philip Treacy hat, which she wore expertly tilted to one side, atop a tidy low bun (not totally unlike her wedding-day hairstyle).
If the photos from the event are any indication, she seems to be settling into her new life of matrimonial bliss and Duchessdom just fine — and certainly has that demure, giggle-like-a-royal thing down pat.
