Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
Meghan Markle — who, I'm not sure if you've heard, is [air horn] GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW — wears a lot of things. So many things, in fact, that we began maniacally chronicling those things in a new column when her engagement to Prince Harry was first announced in November. And now, on the eve of their long-awaited nuptials, there is just one last thing left to document before she becomes an official Mountbatten-Windsor.
On Friday, Markle arrived at Windsor Castle with Prince Harry to have tea with Queen Elizabeth and Markle's mother, Doria Ragland. The couple got there in a car, not a horse-drawn carriage (which I've been disappointed to learn is not customary for all royal transportation), during which time she was photographed wearing a navy dress.
Later, after tea, and Markle and Ragland checked into Cliveden House Hotel, a luxury hotel in Berkshire, about 20 minutes from Windsor Castle. The sleuths over at Meghan's Mirror (who, I should note, are putting in the work this week), immediately identified it as British designer Roland Mouret's Barwick Dress, which, at press time, was still available, but very rapidly selling out on Farfetch. Ragland looked wonderful — very happy and relaxed despite the truly batshit antics surrounding her ex-husband and his immediate family that I cannot even begin to explain — in a crisp white sheath dress and black tweed blazer.
May we all enjoy this one final Meghan Markle Wore a Thing of her singledom. (Don't worry! MMWAT is coming with us in matrimony, forever, as she begins marital life.)
