We've landed on the first Monday in May, which means the Met Gala, otherwise known as fashion's biggest night, is here. The event signals the opening of the Costume Institute's annual exhibit and is known for its elaborate red carpet, buzzing with celebrities and fashion people.

This year the exhibition is "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," and the accompanying dress code is "Sunday Best," which could mean bejeweled crosses and priestlike robing for some, and candy-colored hues and sentimental details for others. Heaven only knows what these people will choose, but the red carpet certainly promises to be a memorable one.

So how did your favorite fashion people interpret the dress code? Click on the gallery below to see every look from the Met Gala red carpet, and check back throughout the evening for live updates.
