Zazie Beetz Just Made Florals Feel Somehow Groundbreaking for Spring

We need to talk about that excellent beauty look, too.

We've all heard the famous Miranda Priestly quip about florals for spring, yada yada, but on Monday night, Zazie Beetz disproved the "Devil Wears Prada" character — and we're glad she did. At the New York City premiere of "Deadpool 2," the actress wore a long-sleeve, full-length floral gown from Valentino's Fall 2018 collection, and let's just say bell sleeves have never looked so good.

The bold impact of the multi-colored gown was kept in check with otherwise minimalist styling by Jason Bolden, which included several dainty rings and a single, black-pearl-studded Katkim earring.

We'd also be remiss if we didn't take a moment to talk about Beetz's excellent accompanying beauty look, created by hairstylist Lacy Redway and makeup artist Ralph Siciliano.

Redway swept Beetz's natural curls up into a soft, cascading updo at the crown of the head, where she also accented the look with Lelet NY hair accessories featuring more pearls. Siciliano's makeup look was mostly subdued, with subtly glossy eyes and brushed brows, which enabled for Beetz's lips — painted a matte deep plum shade — to really stand out.
