Summer music festival season kicked off on the East Coast with Governors Ball in New York City this past weekend. Since Coachella, we've contemplated what the new "festival fashion" aesthetic is, and after the past weekend, we have a few more ideas of what to expect on the sartorial front this year.

On Randall's Island, it was a big ol' prints party, including camo pants and fruity motifs. (Far different from last year's all-denim ensembles.) A matching two-piece set was the most popular look of choice, and we consider it one of the easiest outfits to wear, too — no coordinating required. The variety was plentiful, as well, like cropped shirts and bandeau tops paired with skirts, culottes and flared pants in gingham, stripes, polka dots and tie-dye.
