Another summer, another fashion month for menswear, which kicked off with London Fashion Week Men's over the weekend. Though the Spring 2019 lineup was slim when it came to big-name designers, the week allowed for more experimental, under-the-radar designers to shine — like Xander Zhou, whose presentation garnered attention for dressing male models with prosthetic baby bumps.
On the street style front, showgoers opted for more casual ensembles — rarely did we see a tailored suit among the fashion crowd. Streetwear and sport were the aesthetics of choice, comprised of graphic T-shirts, sneakers, Supreme and some football jerseys. For accessories, fanny packs — or, in 2018 terms, clout packs — were a favorite, which comes as no surprise. Sales for the functional bag have skyrocketed since the beginning of the year, especially within menswear, so we expect to see plenty more as fashion month goes on.
