Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle ore a Thing."
Meghan Markle joined the royal family a little over a month ago, and she's already proven that she has no problem fitting in with the prim-and-proper afternoon-tea-ready bunch. On Tuesday evening, the recently-crowned Duchess of Sussex showed us — once again — that she can hang with those who sport fanciful fascinators when she joined Prince Harry and the Queen at her Young Leaders Reception — an annual event held at Buckingham Palace that reflects the Queen's commitment to the lifelong service of the Commonwealth — in a muted pink Prada button-adorned dress.
As of late, the Duchess has only had eyes for Clare Waight Keller and her elegant creations for the house of Givenchy, so her choice in the Italian designer was a welcome sartorial surprise. She complimented this blushy Prada with Aquazzura Deneuve suede pumps in black and a Prada convertible leather clutch, also in black. And her hair, which we've seen wrapped up in a bun on her last two public outings, was down in voluminous, shiny curls.
At the event, Markle was seated close to the The Queen, who in staying true to her brightly-colored wardrobe form, chose a yellow and mint floral accented dress.
