Virgil Abloh's first show as the artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton on Thursday in Paris was momentous both for the designer on a personal level and on a broader scale, as one of not many black creative directors helming major houses. It's no surprise, then, that a slew of Abloh's friends showed up to fill the front-row seats at his first-ever runway show for Louis Vuitton. Among them was Kanye West, whose teary hug with Abloh post-show already seems destined to become the stuff of fashion legend, wearing what appeared to be his own custom designs.
Many of the front-row attendees dressed in keeping with the show's all-white or brightly-hued theme, with Rihanna wearing head-to-toe white and carrying brand-new Louis Vuitton accessories and others, like Kim Kardashian West, Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner, opting for eye-popping monochrome ensembles.
