Givenchy's Fall 2018 Ad Campaign Celebrates the Thrill of the Night
Clare Waight Keller takes to the club with her Fall 2018 ad campaign for Givenchy. Titled "Night Noir," the black-and-white Steven Meisel-lensed images showcase a group of partying models. It's a gritty scene in what looks like an underground club, where the models seduce the camera with their trashed sort of glamour.
Waight Keller recruited her go-to hair and makeup duo, Guido Palau and Pat McGrath, to aid in creating this sleekly elegant portrait of a night at the club and its inhabitants. The campaign stays true to Waight Keller's ready-to-wear collection of the same name, in the way it echoes the edginess and mystery of the classic film noir genre, but with a touch of carefree romance.
"I wanted to capture the reality of the modern couple in all its diversity: amid a bustling scene or on a crowded dance floor, these urban characters always manage to find each other and flock together in the dark," Meghan Markle's favorite designer said in a statement. "I loved the idea of capturing a Givenchy romance through Steven Meisel's masterful cinematic lens."
