Madewell Launches Extended Sizing Across the Brand

J.Crew's sister label will now offer up to size 3X in select items.

When Madewell made its first foray into "extended sizing" this past spring, customers were less than impressed: The brand merely took its denim from a size 32 up to a size 35, with many shoppers noting that the extended sizes didn't even fit properly.

For its Fall 2018 collection, Madewell is continuing their efforts to bring their clothes to more customers. The brand consulted with "third party fit experts" to ensure that the latest pieces from the extended size range would fit as they should. Denim now ranges from size 23 to size 37, with other garments now offered from an XXS to a 3x. The extended sizing went live on Tuesday, and encompasses about 40 percent of Madewell's offering.

Sister brand J.Crew is still leading Madewell, at least on the extended sizing front, having partnered with Universal Standard to bring its own offerings up to a size 5X. Still, this is a great move towards better inclusion from Madewell.
