Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
Between the birth of Prince Louis, the third child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (that'd be Wills and Kate), and the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Royal Family has certainly had a busy year. But lest you think that the blockbuster wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had eclipsed Prince Louis's moment in the sun, don't you worry: He had his proper christening at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace on Monday, which drew out all the members of the Royal Family (minus, somewhat mysteriously, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip).
For the happy occasion, the Duchess of Sussex wore an olive green dress by American designer Ralph Lauren. The dress features a boatneck shape — quickly becoming a style signature of hers — and is belted at the waist. She finished the look with a hat by Stephen Jones, pumps by Manolo Blahnik and a boxy clutch, all in the same shade of olive green.
Of course, this was also a major moment for Prince Louis's mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, who looked equally stunning. She wore a white Alexander McQueen dress with a woven fascinator by Jane Taylor, which steals the show thanks to its slight height and floral motif.
