Over the weekend, actress Uma Thurman attended the ABB FIA Formula E Championship wearing an ivory silk dress by Miu Miu. The second-annual electric-powered car race was held in Brooklyn and welcomed a slew of elegantly dressed celebrities — there was hardly any pleather or spandex in sight.

Thurman, in particular, chose an ankle-grazing frock, which was pleasantly speckled with black roses. Eschewing the recent motorsport fashion trend, her ensemble was a departure from what one might typically associate with race car attire: its bow and delicate puff-sleeves seem like they'd be more at home at a Victorian tea party, but it worked. She brought the look up to speed by adding studded leather sandals — also by Miu Miu — a peachy red lip, a messy bun and some metal shades by Kaleos
