One of my Holy Grail clothing items that I've spent years trying to find is one that really shouldn't be so hard to find: a simple pair of high-waisted, straight (not wide)-leg trousers, preferably cropped. It's a shape that's pretty easy to find in denim, but not in other fabrics, unless you're trying to pay The Row prices.
But once again, Instagram has come to my rescue. It's become my number-one place to find exciting new brands even though I'm a fashion editor. Jeana Sohn, in addition to being a rewarding Instagram find, is also furthering my belief that the best brands (at least for my taste) are coming out of Los Angeles these days.
On Instagram, I was immediately drawn to her pants: Minimalist and nicely tailored, they were just what I've been looking for. According to her website, they're also made so that they're easy to tailor at the waist if needed. Plus, while they're more than I usually pay for pants, they're not exorbitantly expensive; and for a season-less, timeless wardrobe staple, I think they're worth it.
Jeana Sohn Elio pants, $396, available here.
