As much as we may love ooh-ing and ahh-ing over princess-like red carpet gowns at the Met Gala and statement-making ensembles at the Oscars, the truth is that those looks are lightyears away from what we wear in everyday life. So when it comes to celebrity style that's actually able to inspire what we wear on the regular, we have to turn elsewhere — like, to the easy look Maddie Ziegler donned for Variety's annual Power of Young Hollywood event Tuesday night in West Hollywood, Calif.
The 15-year-old dancer and all-around-star worked with stylist Chris Horan to put together her super-wearable outfit. The focal point of the ensemble was a red leather skirt with asymmetrical detailing from DROMe's Resort 2018 collection. A simple white button-up from Kate Spade made for a demure counterpoint to the fiery skirt, and sweet little Legier necklaces worn over the buttoned shirt collar completed the effect. Red Jimmy Choo heels added a touch of polish. To finish it all off, hairstylist Justine Marjan added subtle waves to Ziegler's hair using a flatiron, and makeup artist Tonya Brewer used Pat McGrath eyeshadow to bring a little shimmer to Ziegler's face. All in all, a look worth emulating — and more importantly, a look it's actually possible to emulate.
