Shorts and a T-shirt have long been a staple for laid-back summer weekends. But how often do you give that combo the spotlight on dressier occasions? After seeing the way Millie Bobby Brown pulled it off Tuesday night at a screening of "Stranger Things" in New York City, we're convinced it's worth a shot. The teen's stylist Thomas Carter Phillips elevated the humble shorts-and-tee combo by layering them under a well-tailored black Off-White blazer that just barely let the edge of Brown's orange camouflage Off-White shorts peek out from underneath. The casualness of her plain white tee was counterbalanced by a pair of strappy black Tabitha Simmons heels.
Brown's beauty look was its own perfectly executed balancing act. Natural-looking clear skin prepped by makeup artist Gianpaolo Ceciliato and slightly curled, shiny hair styled by Blake Erik served as the backdrop for the main attraction: dramatic eye makeup that featured heavily pigmented, shimmery blue eyeshadow, black eyeliner on both top and bottom lids and a generous coating of mascara on her lashes. A simple, glossy pink lip gloss topped it all off. This look is yet another reminder that sometimes the teens really do know best.
