Dry shampoo is easily one of my most-used hair products, and I have a solid bunch in rotation I like to use regularly. But sometimes, my day two (or three) post-shampoo hair needs something a little extra, and that's where Oribe's Mystify Restyling Spray comes in.
A lightweight liquid-y mist, it — like Ouai's Dry Shampoo Foam (which I also love) — momentarily dampens hair, loosening any unwanted bumps or dents that may have cropped up on day two after a wash from hair ties or pillow time. Comb it through or tousle it a little with your fingers, and strands are magically dry again within 30 seconds, while said bumps and dents have disappeared.
Because it's not powder-based or depositing anything chalky on strands, it's not the type of dry shampoo that sops up oil or lends body or grit to strands. But it is the kind of second-day product that smooths things out and makes hair smell insanely good. That also means it's well-suited to pretty much any hair type and texture, even curly or dry types that might ordinarily avoid dry shampoo.
The formula contains heat protectants and UV shielding ingredients, as well as moisturizing avocado oil, so there are plenty of other benefits to using this spray in addition to its simple time-saving function. And, like all Oribe products, it smells heavenly: sweet, floral and to put it bluntly, straight-up fancy as fuck.
