Over the weekend, Elle Fanning attended the Deauville Film Festival in France to promote her new film "Galveston" and also receive the Rising Star Award. (Congrats!) In true Fanning form, she was also decked out head-to-toe in excellent (sponsored) fashions.
For the premiere itself, she and stylist Samantha McMillen chose a Miu Miu Croisiere 2019 collection custom gown, which she paired with Tiffany & Co. jewelry and hair and makeup courtesy of L'Oréal products. (Fanning is a face of all three brands.) The gown, which featured a pale yellow bodice bordered by rhinestones and a large silver bow, also had cut-outs at the waist and a floor-length skirt that looked especially striking when it caught a breeze on the red carpet.
The 20-year-old actress seemed to have been enthusiastic about the entire experience, judging from her adorably excited Instagram caption: "First visit to the Deauville Film Festival and I sure hope it's not my last! What a beautiful city and celebration of cinema!" she wrote. Fanning also took the opportunity to tag her sponsors (ever the professional) and then call out how much she loved her "evening pigtails" by hairstylist Jenda.
The hairstyle in question, two low loops placed at the nape of the neck and adorned by robin's-egg-blue ribbons, is about as twee as it gets — but if anyone can pull off that aesthetic with both sophistication and ease, it's a Fanning. Paired with super-simple makeup (groomed brows, lashes and rosy tones on the cheeks and lips), it had a sweet, playful effect that managed to walk the line between costume-y and tastefully fun.
Earlier in the day during a photo call for "Galveston," she had also worn another summery Miu Miu look: a white scallop-neck dress (with pockets!) and rhinestone-encrusted shoes. In that instance, Fanning went completely minimalist, wearing her hair loose, a no-makeup makeup look and no jewelry.
