Lady Gaga's flair for dramatic fashion has been well-documented, and since we first learned that she'd be starring in the forthcoming (and third) "A Star Is Born" remake, we've been anticipating her accompanying press tour and the looks that would come with it. On Monday evening, she attended the Los Angeles premiere of the film, and damn, did she deliver. For the occasion, she chose a custom Givenchy Haute Couture silver gown, which she paired with a matching silver lace embroidered cape and silver platform sandals (also by Givenchy) and a diamond necklace and earrings (by Bulgari).
Designed by Clare Waight Keller and styled by Sandra Amador, the look is about as glamorous as it gets — but it's also a not-so-subtle nod to Barbra Streisand's 1976 adaptation of the film. In the scene during which her character accepts a Grammy Award, she wears a silver dress and cape, not unlike Gaga's, which Streisand in fact designed herself.
Of course, the beauty look was equally stunning: Described by Gaga's personal makeup artist Sarah Tanno as "futuristic Old Hollywood glam," it included glittery silver eye shadow (Marc Jacobs See-quins Glam Glitter Eye Shadow in Flashlight) and orange-red lipstick (Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick in Oh Miley). And because Gaga does nothing halfway, she also wore a coordinating, gleaming chrome manicure by nail artist Miho Okawara.
Meanwhile, hairstylist Frederic Caspiras — who was behind the platinum blonde finger waves — described the style as "a simple wave that frames the face and sparkling white hair," noting on Instagram that it was "inspired by the classic beauties of Hollywood glamour with a futuristic twist." A star, indeed.
