Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
Unrelated to New York Fashion Week news, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has (somewhat) broken her style streak of "dark tones in sleek silhouettes." (See her black Altuzarra suit from earlier this week.) On Thursday, she attended a gala concert called "100 Days to Peace" in support of mental health charities in London, dressed in a bright-blue Jason Wu dress and matching Aquazzura "Portrait of a Lady" heels adorned with crystals at the heel, as well as a small black clutch.
It's been a while since Markle has been spotted wearing Jason Wu. The last time we reported on this instance was way back in February (pre-Royal Wedding) when she wore a navy wrap dress in London, alongside her then-fiancé Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
As Markle's public appearances continue to pile up for the year, we're starting to get a good sense of her personal aesthetic: The more simple the shape and style, the better, and as for colors and prints, she's keeping it neutral and the latter nearly nonexistent. (No pastels or florals, we can only assume.)
