Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

Earlier this week, Kensington Palace announced that their very own Duchess of Sussex, our very own Meghan Markle, has spent the last few months helping to create a charity cookbook called "Together: Our Community Cookbook." (It spotlights the work of London's all-female Hubb Community Kitchen, which was formed in the aftermath of the deadly Grenfell Tower fire last June.)

While "Together" officially launches Tuesday, Sept. 25 (hit up Amazon with that pre-order, baby!), the Duchess hosted a party for the book on Thursday on the Kensington Palace lawn. People reports guests ate "coconut chicken curry, aubergine masala and chapatis."

For the occasion, the Duchess wore a bright blue Smythe coat (the Peaked Lapel Coat, which, while sold out, retails for $1,195), a black sleeveless Tuxe bodysuit (the $110 Renegade), a black pleated Misha Nonoo shirt (the $250 Saturday Skirt) and her go-to $395 Sarah Flint Jay Pumps

Prince Harry was also there, obviously, but the real special guest was the Duchess's mom, Doria Ragland, who wore an elegantly monochromatic ensemble including camel-colored trousers, a coordinating sweater and a scarf worn as a shawl.

The Duchess has been on a bit of a blue kick lately: For her last public appearance, a gala to support mental health charities, she wore a Jason Wu dress in a similar shade of blue complete with, you guessed it, a boatneck.
