I am probably very late to the game but wearing fleece during the winter is, pardon my language but, the shiiiiiiiit! What's even better, though, is wearing a full-on fleece set. Head-to-toe coziness. A warm hug in fabric form. Like wearing a publicly acceptable blanket that you can actually move around in.
I discovered this revelation almost two winters ago when I went on a trip to Aspen with the folks behind Kith. The streetwear brand and retailer celebrated its pop-up in the very fancy ski resort town and I was given the opportunity to check it out. Kith provided my fellow travelers and me with some swag, which included a fleece set that was made in collaboration with Columbia. I wore it almost every weekend that winter — indoors, outdoors, everywhere I could. The set came in most handy at home because the heat in my apartment doesn't kick in until every single tenant in my building complains to our landlord.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to putting my fleece set back to good use because it feels so, so good to wear. But with the expected amount of time that I'll wear it, I might have to add another comfy set to my heavy rotation. The one I have my eye on? A slime-green fleece number by Stussy. Not only does it come in what is considered the cool color du jour, but this particular version seems to be a little more lightweight than the one I have now. If I'm going to own multiple fleece sets, I might as well try to get as much variety as I can.
Sadly, it's just not fleece weather yet, and winter is still a long way from now. In fact, the official start of fall hasn't even arrived. So I'll just have to patiently wait until I can purchase these bright neon items. Fingers crossed they don't get sold out anytime soon.
