Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

While you were sleeping, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were busy Down Under: The royal pair kicked off the 2018 Invictus Games on Saturday with the Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge. The first event of the annual Paralympic-style competition for wounded and recovering service members and veterans was held on Cockatoo Island, and naturally, the Duchess Meghan Markle and Duke Prince Harry travelled there by a sleek white yacht.

The couple, who just announced they were expecting a baby, kept things casual and arrived in matching black Invictus Games button-up shirts. But to jazz up the polo, the Duchess added a crisp white, femininely tailored Altuzarra blazer from the brand's 2018 collection. On her bottom half, she wore a pair of slim-cut black Mother Denim "Looker" jeans and a pair of black pointed-toe, slingback Tabitha Simmons "Millie" pumps with a discreet bow. She finished the look not with a beloved  British fascinator, but with a more practical accessory and one better suited to the strong Australian sun: a pair of Illesteva Palm Beach sunglasses with yellow tortoiseshell frames.
