Meghan Markle Wore a Thing: Birdies Flats in New Zealand Edition
Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
On the last day of their jam-packed royal tour through Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, took time to attend a traditional Maori welcoming ceremony, meet a baby Kiwi bird and hug a couple of human children. And while those were all events requiring fancier looks from the Duchess, one of the couple's final stops was a visit to a redwood forest in Rotorua that required a much more casual ensemble appropriate for the outdoors.
For the outing, the Duchess kept on her custom Givenchy sweater from earlier in the day, but changed out of the matching skirt in favor of a pair of simple black skinny jeans from Los Angeles denim brand Mother. Flat black "slippers" from Birdies and a down puffer coat from Norrona completed the highly functional look. Will the Duke and pregnant Duchess get to chill and take a break from the public eye for a little bit after this tour? We certainly hope so. Either way, the trip has given Marklemaniacs plenty of outfit inspiration for months to come.
