Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have moved on from their royal tour of Australia and are now visiting the island nation of Fiji. One of the royals' first public appearances was a formal state dinner, for which the Duke showed up in a dapper tux and bowtie, and the Duchess chose a full-length, cap-sleeve cape dress by Safiyaa.

The turquoise blue shade has reportedly been referred to as "Fijian blue" by one of the guests in attendance. Beyond making for a striking and beautiful combination with her dark hair and honoring Fiji, the dress also gave the Duchess an opportunity to show off her growing baby bump.

The Duchess topped off the look with statement earrings that, according to Kensington Palace, were "borrowed" though mysteriously did not specify from whom, and a tennis bracelet.
