Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just five days left of their 16-day royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand, which means that Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has just five days left of making, on average, 84 wardrobe changes a day. With the end now in sight, however, it looks as if she's been saving some of her best — or at the very least, most dramatic — for last.
On Friday back in Sydney, the Duke and Duchess attended the Australian Geographic Society Awards where the Duchess wore a very princess-y, bird-embellished Oscar de la Renta gown.
The piece, part of the American legacy label's Pre-Fall 2018 collection, came decorated with hundreds of thickly traced bird silhouettes — well-suited for the Duchess's task of presenting the evening's Young Conservationist of the Year award. With it, she wore a pair of black Aquazzura "Deneuve" pumps and her Birks stackable "Bee Chic" ring.
The Duke and Duchess remain in Sydney through Sunday, when they head off to their last leg of New Zealand.
