Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
I personally have never been pregnant, but I have been lead to understand by friends, acquaintances and pop culture in general that pregnancy is a time for rest, relaxation and pampering. Such is not the case thus far for Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, who has been so busy wearing and doing things in the Pacific that we can barely keep up. I mean, the outfit changes alone would exhaust me, and I only have a cat.
Still, the work has been worth it, as the Duchess has produced some of her best sartorial work so far while on a royal tour through Australia, and now Fiji. On Wednesday, Prince Harry accompanied his wife to the University of the South Pacific campus in Suva, where the Duchess made her first speech of the tour.
To do so, the Duchess chose the vacation-ready "Federica" dress from Figue (which can be yours for $1495!) in a bright pink floral print, complete with ruffles and pom-pom details. She accessorized the look with simple black wedge espadrilles from Castañer and, according to the eagle-eyes at Meghan's Mirror, a file folder that the Duchess is very cleverly holding in the style of a clutch. Hairstylist George Northwood swept her hair up into a chic, humidity-proof updo complete with fresh flowers, and the Duchess's makeup was kept simple, with a slight hint of bronze.
Now will someone please let this nice woman take a three-day long nap!
