Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has had a penchant for casual, breezy printed frocks since leaving Sydney, Australia. The royal couple flew to Fraser Island on Monday morning for a day's worth of events in the Pile Valley. For their arrival, the Duchess was clad in a burgundy-and-white $129 polka dot dress with a tie at the waist from & Other Stories (unfortunately, it's already sold-out) and brown saddle flat sandals from Sarah Flint. She paired the look with New Zealand designer Karen Walker's Northern Light sunglasses, which are available for $220.
The Duchess, who rested while her ginger Prince enjoyed some of the Queensland sights for himself, later emerged from her slumber in a beachy striped linen Reformation dress. Her playful use of stripes and spots gives us hope that the pregnant royal will continue to use the Australian tour to go for more affordable, laid-back options that reference her California roots.
