Not to go full "pumpkin spice latte" on you here, but genuinely, sweaters are one of my favorite pieces of apparel. I find them to be so versatile, and when temperatures drop, they're so easy to throw on and look pulled together — provided you have the right sweater, that is.
There's nothing wrong with a simple knit, but I like to find sweaters with pretty little details, and that is where Sézane comes in. The go-to purveyor of all things Parisian-chic happens to make some of my all-time favorite sweaters, like a grey knit with a white chiffon tie or a honey-colored cardigan with lace at the sleeves. It's these little details — a keyhole here, a delicate button there — that take a sweater from layering basic to style statement, and, dare I say, even make it a little sexy.
Take the Nicky sweater, the latest I'm eyeing from the brand: With lace trim at the v-neck and sleeves, and sweet little buttons, it would jazz up a simple jean just as easily as it would fit with a feminine skirt. Plus, you can wear the vee to the front and the back, making it a versatile cold-weather piece. The only challenge is picking which color to buy; I'm leaning towards this ballerina-pink shade to brighten up my winter wardrobe.
