As brands continue to rack up the Instagram likes flying guests to far-flung locales for pre-collection runways — think Louis Vuitton in Japan, Gucci in the south of France, Dior in Calabasas — those with the resources to do so are eager to get in on the action.

Case in point? Versace, which — fresh off being acquired by Michael Kors for a staggering $2.12 billion — will present a pre-collection runway show for the first time ever, with a Pre-Fall 2019 show in New York City on Dec. 2, according to WWD. The date is also the late Gianni Versace's birthday. Details are scarce, but we've reached out to Versace for more information.

Of course, New York City is a popular destination for brands of all types; Chanel will also be presenting its Métiers d'Art collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Dec. 4, and Prada, Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana and Givenchy have all brought their runways to the Big Apple in recent years.
