As you might know if you've read many of my editor's picks, my shopping strategy is basically this: Become obsessed with one thing and proceed to buy several versions of it. Right now, that thing is khakis. At this phase in my life, I basically want to look like a "Dawson's Creek" or "Felicity" extra all the time.

After a long search, I found a great pair of perfectly tailored, high-waisted khaki trousers at Reformation Vintage; now I'm in the market for some more casual, straight-leg options. I even recently bought some khaki carpenter pants from Brandy Melville even though that store is technically for people half my age.

I did that, in part, because I'd forgotten I'd already ordered a slightly more sleek and lighter-colored option from Everlane that I feel is more appropriate to recommend to you dear readers. (They were backordered, but should be heading to me next week.) Granted, the color is called "stone" so they may not truly count as khakis, but they're definitely in the khaki neighborhood. While they're not yet in my possession, I feel confident that they will be in constant rotation; I like the fit of Everlane pants and they will go with pretty much everything, from T-shirts and sweaters on top, to sandals, boots or sneakers on the bottom.

The only downside to this newfound khaki obsession is that I'll have to figure out a way to curb my propensity for spilling things whenever I wear light clothing. Suggestions are welcome.
