The Independent Filmmaker Project's 2018 Gotham Awards took place in New York City on Monday night, kicking off the highly-anticipated film awards season. Since the ceremony highlights this year's best indie films and series, a slew of budding style stars to watch were spotted on the red carpet, including Elsie Fisher, Helena Howard and Kiki Layne — all of whom were nominated for the Breakthrough Actor Award.
Fisher, who captured audiences for her award-winning performance in "Eighth Grade," continued her streak of wearing suits on the red carpet in a hot pink A.L.C. number, styled by Mary Inacio. She accessorized her bright-and-bold look with a red handbag from Kate Spade New York.
Layne's fashion choices have been keeping our attention throughout the promotional tour of her new film "If Beale Street Could Talk." Styled by Wayman + Micah, the actress wore a striking gown by Miu Miu, which she's been wearing on a consistent basis among her public appearances. As for Howard, who was plucked from a high school acting competition for her film debut in "Madeline's Madeline," she wore an ethereal, asymmetrical dress from Calvin Klein by Appointment, paired with black accessories, including a pair of Calvin Klein 205W39NYC heels.
As awards season picks up in the new year, we can't wait to see what these stylish ladies will wear next. Until then, see the rest of our favorite red carpet looks from the 2018 Gotham Awards in the gallery below.
