Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

Even when Meghan Markle wears up to five things in one day, the Fashionista HQ (and every other media outlet) is generally prepared to report on every single look, thanks to the Kensington Palace's announcements on the royal family's whereabouts well in advance.

But the Duchess of Sussex caught us all off guard on Wednesday with a surprise solo visit to the Hubb Community Kitchen in London. Earlier this year, the Duchess was inspired by the all-female communal kitchen, which formed after the deadly Grenfell Tower fire last June, and released a charity cookbook comprised of their recipes called "Together: Our Community Cookbook" this September

For her visit, the Duchess wore a Club Monaco "Daylina" coat (available online and on sale for $349, from $459.50), along with the brand's "Sallyet" dress (available exclusively online for $228) in a matching burgundy color, layered over black tights. She finished off her outfit with a pair of black slip-on ankle boots from one of her favorite fashion houses, Givenchy.

The Duchess was welcomed with open arms by the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen, as she got to see firsthand the results of her newly published cookbook's proceeds: According to the Kensington Palace, the kitchen has been completely renovated, which the women are now able to use seven days a week. It's the heartwarming story we've all been waiting for just ahead of the holiday season.
