While most of us were spending the holiday weekend sleeping off our turkey-induced tryptophan hangovers, shopping Small Business Saturday sales and generally lazing about, Michelle Obama was proving that it is indeed possible to wear something other than sweatpants the weekend after Thanksgiving. As part of her ongoing book tour for "Becoming," Obama spoke with Michelle Norris in front of a sold-out audience of 20,000 people in Boston on Saturday — and, as usual, she looked damn good doing it.
For the occasion, Obama's stylist Meredith Koop selected a custom-made Cushnie look in cobalt blue that featured a silky button-up shirt and high-waisted pants with a paper-bag drawstring closure. The white trim at the wrists and the monochrome color palette made the look seem almost like an elevated pajama dressing moment (if your vision of pajamas is fitted and super flattering). A pair of strappy silver heels completed the ensemble, elegant in its simplicity. The past week has given us plenty of time to reflect on all we're thankful for, and Michelle Obama — and her style — being back in the spotlight just gave us one more thing to add to the list.
