A few months ago, you might have started seeing a certain serum all over the damn place. Buzzily named for "Glass Skin," the K-beauty complexion ideal, it was developed by Alicia Yoon, who is an esthetician, K-beauty expert and the founder of Peach & Lily. Every single beauty editor, it seemed, was singing its praises. And then — because of all that hype and the relatively accessible $39 price tag, no doubt — it sold out entirely, with not a bottle to be found for sale. But it's officially back! And I'm here to sing its praises all over again.
This little bottle packs a lot of skin-saving ingredients: There's a hyaluronic acid complex, which means it contains both long- and short-chain molecules to penetrate the hydrator into skin's deeper layers and plump it while also smoothing things out on the surface. A blend of peptides works to spur collagen production, which fights fine lines and makes skin more resilient. It's also spiked with niacinamide, a multi-tasking ingredient I love for its pore-shrinking, line-reducing, redness-calming and brightening properties.
Beyond those effective — if fairly standard — ingredients, the serum also includes less common ones, like peach extract, which the brand claims is "chock full of vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids known to help keep skin firm, radiant and resilient" and East Asian mountain yam extract, which is supposed to "reduce flakiness and create more supple skin." There's also madecassoide, which is derived from centella asiatica or "cica," a popular ingredient for soothing inflammation in the skin.
What's really impressive is that Peach & Lily packs all of these various elements into one incredibly pleasant-to-use formula. The serum is completely clear and viscous enough that it spreads easily over skin without dripping through your fingers first. It absorbs in just a few seconds with absolutely no trace of greasiness, making it perfect for layering under other skin products and makeup.
I've been using it for the last few months — after cleansing but before applying my vitamin C serum and sunscreen (in the morning) and after using my chemical exfoliator but before my retinol and heavier moisturizer (at night). I've officially made it a permanent part of my routine, so here's hoping it never goes out of stock again.
