WSJ. Magazine hosted its eighth annual Innovator Awards on Wednesday night in New York City to celebrate its November "Innovators" issue with a special awards ceremony that honored forward-thinking creatives — and the magazine's cover stars — across fashion, film, design, food, television and more.
Black, white and red seemed to be the color palette of choice among the event's best-dressed attendees. Lupita Nyong'o, who delivered a heartfelt tribute to the award-winning costume designer Ruth Carter, wore a white suit by Ralph Lauren. (The American designer was also in attendance, as he accepted his own Innovator award from Virgil Abloh.) Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen arrived in their signature draped ensembles, accented with statement footwear: Ashley in black pumps and Mary-Kate in red snakeskin boots.
Models Cara Delevingne and Dilone chose a similar aesthetic for the evening with a midriff-baring silhouette and eye-catching details, like Dilone's red-and-black macramé and Delevingne's embellished bell sleeves by David Koma.
