Alexia María is a high-end womenswear brand specializing in evening wear and occasion dressing. We are based in La Jolla, California and recently opened our newest boutique in New York on the Upper East Side. We are a direct-to-consumer brand that provides a unique retail and e-commerce experience to our customers; with our production studio based in California, we are able to quickly cater to more personalized needs for our made-to-order pieces. In 2014, Mexican designer and founder Alexia María Esquer launched her eponymous collection. Since then, the brand has grown to be known for its feminine silhouettes with playful structured details. Being inspired by the 1950s, Alexia María's designs celebrate the classic essence of women during that era while at the same time carrying a modern twist for women today.

Roles and Responsibilities:

We are currently looking to hire proactive, genuinely charismatic, and professional team members for our NYC boutique. We are looking for a:

  • Manager
  • Part Time Sales Associate
  • Seasonal Sales Associate

These are unique roles as we recently opened and are looking for team members who can assist with providing feedback and establishing the necessary procedures they see fit as needed. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working the floor by themselves and communicating directly with management regarding the daily store operations.

  • Manage and oversee daily operations
  • Assist customers in-person and over the phone with styling and sizing recommendations
  • Learn all brand and product knowledge
  • Actively tend to customers and establish and maintain client relationships with them
  • Accurately process orders through our POS system
  • Manage and process returns and exchanges
  • Provide daily reports on store activity and customer feedback and insights
  • Schedule and organize alteration and fitting appointments
  • Clean and organize the storefloor and storage basement
  • Resolve any concerns or issues that may arise in a timely and professional manner
  • Open and close the store responsibly and on time

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail experience
  • Dependable and able to work weekends and the holidays
  • Genuine interest in fashion and a passion for the Alexia María brand
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a ‘Can-Do’ attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attentive to detail and highly organized
  • Self starter and willing to take initiative
  • Ability to provide high levels of customer satisfaction through brand and product knowledge
  • Comfortable assisting with styling and sizing and overseeing alteration appointments
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Eager to cooperate with our management team and provide feedback
  • Proficient with Mac OS and familiar with Google Applications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
