Listen, first of all, let's be clear: I dress like it's the holidays year-round. If it's got oversized bows, layers of glitter or rich textures on it, I want it and I don't need an excuse to wear it. I live a holiday dressing lifestyle. That's why this time of year ends up being something of a shopping extravaganza for me. I know I'll get plenty of wear out of pieces intended to be worn to holiday parties — like this dress from Julia Engel's Gal Meets Glam line.
From the front, it looks simple: A deep pink, double-faced satin dress with red accents at the sleeve, collar and waist. But turn around, and baby, you've got a party going!
The collar dives down into a deep vee — neither too deep that one couldn't wear a bra nor too shallow as to be dramatically ineffective — that ends with a perfectly-placed bow. It's just the sort of thing I could see Blair Waldorf wearing to see "The Nutcracker" at Lincoln Center — and y'all know how I feel about anything that smacks of Blair Waldorf. Pull your hair up, plop down a fancy hair accessory or a statement earring, throw on some embellished tights and you're out the door to your next festive gathering.
