As one of the best-loved (and most commercially successful) brands of the moment, Gucci has had no problem recruiting artists of all kinds for collaborations. The latest creative to co-sign Alessandro Michele's vision? That would be one Harmony Korine, the director and screenwriter behind such iconic films as "Kids" and "Spring Breakers" (and, for what it's worth, Rihanna's "Needed Me" music video).

Korine, who's also worked with Proenza Schouler and Dior in the past, photographed Gucci's Pre-Fall 2019 lookbook on-site at the archaeological parks of Herculaneum and Pompeii. According to the brand, the location choice was part of a Gucci's ongoing effort to support Italian cultural heritage.

"Recounting the collection in these unique and inimitable places through the contemporary and unexpected gaze of the American artist, Gucci intends to preserve and promote these two ancient Roman cities, bringing their fascination and historical memory to the attention of new generations and an increasingly interactive audience," the brand said in a release.

Take a look at the full Gucci Pre-Fall 2019 lookbook, which involves over 80 looks and a surprising amount of snacks, in the gallery below.
