I'm usually not one to make New Year's resolutions, but I actually have one for 2019, and I'm pretty excited about it. As of now, my dresser is overstuffed with years of Hanky Pankys and other miscellaneous lace-y bits picked up from Nordstrom Rack when I didn't feel like doing laundry. And while, yes, my Hanky Pankys are like $5 grande skinny vanilla lattes from Starbucks — overpriced, basic and still so good after all these years — their springy, middle school florals and orange zigzag patterns spell sophomore sorority girl, when I am years past that. So I've decided to overhaul my not-so-chic underwear drawer, for no other reason than the fact that it will make me happy.

In a perfect world, I would click "purchase" and a thousand pairs of rich-looking undergarments would appear at my doorstep. But for now, I'll stick to Journelle's sale section and go from there. I've landed on a classic botanical lace bikini style in a royal navy shade. I love the scalloped edging at the waist and along the bum and that it has a ruched back panel. So there you have it: My first pair of pretty panties in 2019.
