I often feel like my attempts at getting dressed in the winter fall into one of two categories: either I compromise my style by layering myself deep into human marshmallow territory, or I compromise my ability to stay truly warm by wearing things that I like but that aren't all that practical for cold weather. I'm always trying to get closer to walking the delicate line between the two, which is why pieces that I find cute that seem actually warm are such standouts to me.
The latest thing to catch my eye that falls into this category is a quilted jacket by independent label Kordal Studio. Made using recycled cotton canvas with filler derived from recycled cotton scraps, this jacket looks cozy enough to be a real staple for chilly months, without being so bulky that it couldn't be layered under an even heavier coat for truly frigid days. Although my favorite soft pink "oyster" colorway is currently sold out, this burnt-orange "clover" jacket is lovely, too. Here's hoping it's as pillow-like in person as it looks in the photos.
Kordal Studio Reversible Quilted Jacket, $328, available here.
