Seven years after founding Net-a-Porter's Porter Magazine, Lucy Yeomans has announced her departure as founding editor-in-chief on Monday. Her final issue — Porter's fifth-anniversary edition — will be available on newsstands on Thursday, Feb. 7.
"And now inspired and super excited to embark on my next venture — will reveal all very soon!!" wrote Yeomans in a touching post on Instagram. "Thank you again to my wonderful team, all our brilliant creative and brand partners and the many, many new friends I have made along the way."
"Lucy has been a driving force behind the development of our pioneering content and has built Porter into an award-winning, world-renowned proposition," said Net-a-Porter and Mr. Porter President Alison Loehnis in an official statement. "I have loved working with her and would like to express my sincere thanks to Lucy for her passion, creativity and commitment and wish her every success in her next venture."
In Yeomans's absence, Global Content Director Sarah Bailey will become Porter's acting editor-in-chief, in addition to her role of overseeing digital editorial. (Last year, both print and online staffs merged.)
According to Business of Fashion, which first reported the news, the Net-a-Porter in-house media brand is allegedly reevaluating its content strategy, but has no plans to cease publishing of its printed edition. The news of Yeomans's exit follows Tess Macleod Smith, vice president of publishing and media at Net-a-Porter since Porter's launch, who plans to leave the company in February.
