I know that it's only January, but because fashion has broken my brain, I'm already thinking of my spring and summer shopping options. Considering the literal sub-zero temps we hit here in New York City earlier this week, it really doesn't take much to get me dreaming of warmer days, but credit where credit is due: This gauzy, pastel-hued skirt by Mara Hoffman has me fantasizing about an ice-cold beer by the beach.
My summer aesthetic muse is Gwyneth Paltrow in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" — before all the murder, that is — as an American ex-pat in post-war Italy. That means long, flowing skirts like this one paired with a loose button down and a pair of espadrilles in the city, or a simple one-piece swimsuit and slides for a day at the ocean. Maybe those days are still months away, but hey, a girl can dream, right?
