Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
On Wednesday, the Duchess of Sussex paid her first visit as Patron to the National Theatre in London. Her newly-given patronage, which was passed on by Her Majesty the Queen after 45 years of holding the role, highlights Meghan Markle's support for the arts and her former career as an actor.
For the special trip, the Duchess wore a matching dress and jacket from Brandon Maxwell, which appears to be a slightly modified version of a look from the New York designer's Spring 2019 collection. Her Royal Highness has been an avid supporter of Maxwell over the past year, as she's been seen wearing his designs since last summer, including during her tour through Australia and New Zealand.
The Duchess's style often leans towards more neutral-colored, mostly-monochromatic head-to-looks, and her latest outfit is no exception. Her blush-pink ensemble is paired with a nude pair of Aquazzura heels and a white-and-gold clutch from Carolina Herrera, which she previously toted around while celebrating the Queen's 92nd birthday last year.
For beauty, the Duchess wore her hair in a loose updo with a deep side part, and kept her makeup fairly simple with a nude lip and bare nails.
After her visit in London, the Duchess still has a busy schedule ahead of her for the rest of the week: On Thursday, she'll continue to support her patronage with a visit to The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), as well as travel to Bristol with the Duke of Sussex on Friday.
