As you may already know, my mind (and wardrobe) is on all things spring, despite the winter weather still looming in New York City. As the temps start to slightly heat up, chances are I'll still need to keep some outerwear in tow for chilly mornings and nights. So I plan to wear this lightweight quilted jacket all through the upcoming season.
Designed by Alpha Industries, this jacket is "technically" considered a liner by the American brand, and while I've certainly layered this item underneath a number of coats, I think it's best when worn on its own — getting all of the attention it deserves.
What I like most about this jacket is that it's a cool alternative to the army-green bomber that became ubiquitous over the past few years. The curvy stitching adds just enough of a statement while still being versatile, and the buttons make it seem slightly dressier than your standard zipper hardware. Plus, a style tip: My own jacket is a couple of sizes bigger than what I usually get, so it adds an interesting, almost sculptural silhouette to my entire outfit.
