So understand I say this with no disrespect to either Monsieur Ghesquière or every other actress in Hollywood, but: Why does literally anyone else even bother to wear Ghesquière's designs for Louis Vuitton? It's not that they don't look good — of course they do! — it's just that, like, [broadly gestures at Connelly wearing Louis Vuitton at the premiere of "Alita: Battle Angel"], you know?
Connelly has been Ghesquière's longtime muse and it's not hard to see why. Here, she takes a series of what could be fussy or complicated pieces from Louis Vuitton — a dress featuring florals, studs and a cape detail at the sleeves; a contrasting, structural floral belt; a white-and-black trunk bag; cream Mary Jane heels with a double buckle — and makes them look as easy and as comfortable as my mismatched college tee and sweatpants combo. What the hell!!! And how?!
And then Connelly has the audacity to finish the whole look off with red eyeshadow and otherwise minimal makeup. It's kind of rude, honestly! Anyway, salute to all the other bold actresses in Hollywood who wear Ghesquière's designs; you all look wonderful, too, I mean it. It's just that Connelly makes it look so damn perfect!
