Outdoor Voices, my go-to label for jazzed up leggings, just debuted a new "studio collection" made for bendy activity — think barre, yoga and Pilates. I got to try out a grassy, green-colored unitard from the range and take it for a test drive at a dance class last week. There, a bunch of people dressed in lemon-y hi-rise leggings, soft coral leotards and ballet-inspired wrap skirts from the line and I followed Marisa Competello and Lauren Gerrie through a series of coy shimmies as a part of their all-level dance class called "Moves."
After a sweat-filled warm-up, an across-the-floor sequence that was more like a Britney Spears dance party and a hip-and-head-roll-heavy routine to Ariana Grande, my full-length bodysuit turned out to be the best dance partner: It's made of a FreeForm fabric, which is super stretchy, and it's extremely comfortable; so comfortable that I didn't want to take it off once I got home — not even for my beloved plush robe. Plus, it made me realize that I have no qualms about shaking it in a tight one-piece in the presence of strangers. I plan on scooping up the rest of the collection and reactivating my ClassPass, so I have a reason to wear all my sunny, dance-friendly workout clothes at least twice a week.
Outdoor Voices Freeform Unitard, $90, available here.
