The Sandals That Have Whitney Daydreaming About Warmer Weather

Rachel Comey Adams Sandal, $435, available here.
My toes, buried three layers deep in boots, socks and tights, are cold as I write this. I wore a faux fur-lined jacket to work today and wished I could've also been wearing fur-lined pants, and probably a balaclava for good measure. And yet I still have a hankering to slip into these wildly-impractical-for-right-now peep-toe sandals from Rachel Comey, which look like they belong in a place I'd rather be: namely, somewhere warm.
Even though we're in the thick of fashion week here in New York, which is plenty exciting on a sartorial front, it is also officially the time of year where I start fantasizing about balmier climes and the wardrobe that goes with them. Much like my dream Stella McCartney flatforms of yesteryear, this is a pair of sandals that I'd love to wear with socks — maybe some sheer striped ones or a pair with a little sparkle. I love that these nod to good-girl Mary Janes but subvert the preciousness by virtue of the croc embossing and abundance of buckles and straps. And I really, really love that they remind me of warm weather. Did I mention that yet? Someone book me a tropical vacation, stat.
